Registration for BR1M 2.0 to start on Nov 1

PUTRAJAYA: Registration for Bantuan Rakyat 1Malaysia (BR1M) 2.0 will begin on Nov 1, Second Finance Minister Datuk Seri Ahmad Husni Hanadzlah announced Monday. He said two months have been set for the exercise and the public can register at Inland Revenue Board (IRB) and district offices from that date.
"Those who have received the earlier BR1M do not have to register again as they will automatically get it.
"This registration exercise is for those who missed out on the earlier one as well as for singles above 21 years with a monthly income of RM2,000 and less," he added.
Ahmad Husni said the Government planned to distribute the aid early next year.
Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak, in his Budget 2013 proposals, extended the aid under BR1M 2.0 to cover a payment of RM250 for single unmarried individuals aged 21 and above, earning not more than RM2,000 a month.
